Longmoor Lane is a mixed residential development delivered on a previously developed site in the
Fazakerley area of North Liverpool. The scheme forms part of a wider programme of investment by Torus to deliver new homes within established urban communities, increasing access to affordable housing
options.
The development comprises a combination of apartments and town houses, providing a varied housing mix that responds to local demand. The completed homes include one- and two-bedroom apartments alongside family-sized houses, all delivered under a Rent to Buy tenure model. The site benefits from strong local connectivity, with access to nearby amenities and transport links connecting residents to Liverpool city centre and the wider region.
A defining aspect of the Longmoor Lane scheme was the integration of timber frame construction alongside significant concrete elements within the apartment block. The project required careful coordination at the interface between concrete and timber frame, particularly where structural transitions and load paths changed across the building.
Architectural complexity was further introduced through curved wall sections and an underpass condition at ground level. These elements required precise detailing to maintain structural continuity while accommodating the intended form of the building. Alongside the apartments, the town houses were delivered using the same core wall build-up, allowing consistency of performance and construction
approach across the site despite differing scales and layouts.
